Our accessibility aim

Simmons & Simmons has redesigned elexica to meet the internationally recognised standards of accessibility set by the World Wide Web Consortium. We believe this will not only improve the experience of internet users who face accessibility challenges, but it will also make using our web site faster and easier for all our visitors.

We have rebuilt elexica so that it conforms to:

User tip – text resizing

As part of our improved accessibility we are introducing support for resizable pages and fonts. As a user you will be able to control the size of the text and the page to suit your needs though your browser software. Once changed it will continue to work on all similarly enabled web sites.

To increase or decrease the text size follow the appropriate menu "path" for your browser:

  • Firefox: View > Text size
  • Internet Explorer: View > Text size
  • Netscape: Edit > Preferences > Appearance > Fonts
  • Opera: File > Preferences > Fonts > Minimum font size

Additionally scroll wheel mouse users may also find that if they hold down the control key while using the scroll wheel they will be able to adjust the text size.

Skip links are available for screen reader users at the top of each page. These can be used to:

  • Skip to the start of page content
  • Skip to the main site navigation
  • Skip to the elexica search facility

PDF documents

Some content is provided in the PDF document format. These documents can be read using Adobe Reader. Adobe also provide information about accessing PDF documents.

Screen reader software

Screen reader software is available for those who are not able to read from a monitor. This software reads out the content of web pages and provides means to navigate using the keyboard. The following packages are available:
